At The Connecticut Hospice, pharmacy services are an essential part of care. Our in-house pharmacy—unique among inpatient hospice settings—is staffed around the clock to support patients receiving care in our hospital, as well as those at home. This allows medications to be adjusted quickly as symptoms change, without unnecessary delays or transitions.
Pharmacists are active members of the interdisciplinary care team, working closely with physicians and nurses to guide medication choices, dosing, and symptom management. Their involvement helps ensure that pain and other symptoms are addressed thoughtfully, safely, and effectively.
We are continuing to expand our pharmacy services with a state-of-the-art sterile compounding suite, enabling advanced treatments such as intravenous pain management and antibiotics. This added capability allows us to deliver complex therapies wherever patients are receiving care, supporting comfort, continuity, and peace of mind for patients and families.
