The Connecticut Hospice Website Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which The Connecticut Hospice, Inc. collects, uses, maintains and discloses information collected from users (each, a “User”) of the www.hospice.com website (“Site”). This privacy policy applies to the Site and all services offered by The Connecticut Hospice, Inc.

Personal Information

We may collect personal information from Users in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, when Users visit our site, make a donation, inquire about volunteering, and in connection with other activities, services, features or resources we may make available on our Site. Users may be asked for, as appropriate, name, email address, mailing address, phone number, and credit card information.

We will collect such personal information from Users only if they voluntarily submit it to us. Users can always refuse to supply personal information, except that it may prevent them from engaging in certain site-related activities.

Credit card information

Credit card information collected online is used only for the purposes of completing a transaction as specified by the User on our donation pages.

Information about your use of our Site

We may collect information about Users whenever they interact with our site.  For example, we may collect the User’s browser name, the type of computer being used, and technical information about Users’ means of connection to our site, such as the operating system and the Internet service providers utilized and other similar information.

Web browser cookies

Our site may use “cookies” to permit the Site to perform, to provide security, and to enhance User experience. Web browsers place cookies on a User’s hard drive for record-keeping purposes and sometimes to track information about the User. How we use collected information

The Connecticut Hospice, Inc., collects and uses Users personal information for the following purposes:

  • To process transactions and requests.  We may use the information Users provide about themselves when making a donation or submitting a request regarding volunteering, for example, only to service that donation or to respond to that request. We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to carry out the donation or respond to the request.
  • To send periodic emails. The email address Users provide will be used to send them information and updates pertaining to their donation or request. It may also be used to respond to their inquiries, and/or other requests or questions. If User decides to opt-in to our mailing list, they will receive emails that may include organization news, updates, related product or service information, etc. If at any time the User would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, we include detailed unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each email or User may contact us via our Site.
  • To improve the functionality of our site.

When we might share your information

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your name and phone number except as expressly stated in this Privacy Policy.  We may disclose aggregated information about our users, and information that does not identify any individual, without restriction. 

In addition, we may disclose personal information that we collect or you provide:

  • To our subsidiaries and affiliates.
  • To other Users of our Site as defined in the Terms of Service (the “Agreement”) and to third parties in order to fulfill, apply and enforce the terms of that Agreement and other agreements.
